Overall it was a very basic flat in desperate need of a deep clean and a paint job. Fine if you’re jusy using it as a ba Positive: Property was in a good location, about a 15 min walk from Wimbledon tube station or a 5 min taxi ride. Excellent location for going to Wimbledon, taxi took 10 mins. The size of the property was also good for being in London it didn’t feel too cramped or lacking space. The apartment had an air conditioning unit up in the bedroom which honestly was a life saver given the weather while we were there. The check in and out times were very reasonable didn’t feel like you were scrambling to check out which is nice. Negative: The photos posted to booking.com made it look like this had been a property recently done up or just kept in good standing while in reality it looked like it hadn’t been done in years and was really poor looking compared to the pictures online. The bathroom looked like it needed an intense deep clean. The toilet seat was cracked, there are marks of damp over the ceiling, whoever was in before us all their hair and shampoo products were just left at the side of the bath, the toilet took about 30 mins to refill after one flush and the shower can neither be described as hot or cold merely a look warm drizzle. Kitchen had all the utensils but they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages - might just be nobody has used them but they felt and looked greasy as if they’d been rinsed quickly and shoved back in. The Keys for the property had to be picked up at a shop 20 mins away from the flat itself and there was no communication on what to do for checkout, I had to message booking.com myself to ask what the procedures were. The communication was a bit poor from the property management, I had messaged days before going to check about a deposit as booking.com said we had to bring nearly £300 in cash as a deposit, I didn’t get a reply back on the app and when I phoned someone said they would phone me back and then never did, in the end we didn’t need a deposit but it would have been good just to have that confirmed when asked. And as above we had to ask what checkout procedures were, it would have been nice to have a book/small document when entering property to let us know about the place itself, how to work TV/air conditioning unit/ check in and out or just general knowledge of area. There was a Yale lock on the front door which should have had a deadlock to make sure the handle couldn’t be turned but that was broken so no deadlock. The bedroom was fine but the pillows were horrific honestly felt like you were just sleeping on the mattress itself.
